Apple's new entry-level iPad will feature the A14 Chip and 5G support

Apple‘s entry-level iPads are high in demand, they are the most popular tablet of the company. These devices are perfect for those who want a perfectly balanced tab with performance and affordability. The latest iPad arrives with an A13 Bionic chipset, a mediocre selfie camera, and more. The next generation, however, could be even better as the company is working on a redesigned version of the low-cost tab.

Apple will upgrade the entry-level iPads by integrating the A14 Bionic SoC

As per 9to5Mac, the Cupertino-based giant is looking to bring multiple updates to this tablet which will bring it up to speed with the remainder of the iPad Series. As per the report, the 2022 iPad that has been codenamed J272 will feature a USB Type-C port instead of a lightning port. This means that Apple is finally moving over from their standard port to the C-type port. The iPad Pro received this port in 2018, the iPad Air in 2020, and the iPad Mini in 2021.

As per the publication, the company is looking to upgrade the entry-level iPads by powering them with the A14 Bionic chip that has been used in the 4th-generation iPad Air. When compared to the A13 Bionic that we saw in the current entry-level tablets, the new chip offers an improved 30% performance benefit. The new tab offers 5G connectivity as well.

As per the report, the new entry-level tablet will have a Retina display with the same resolution as the iPad Air but could pack a 10.5″ or 10.9″ screen over the present 10.2″ LCD display. It is hard to expect a wide color gamut with DCI-P3 and increased brightness which is exclusive to more expensive variants.

The upcoming iPad will launch in the fall of 2022.
