Border 2 Song Credit Controversy Breakdown

What Sparked the Confusion?

The controversy erupted when an older interview featuring Anu Malik resurfaced, where he passionately discussed the importance of crediting original creators. Some interpreted these comments as dissatisfaction with how Border 2 handled his contribution to the iconic patriotic anthem originally composed for JP Dutta‘s 1997 war epic. However, Malik’s recent Instagram statement clarifies these were general remarks, not complaints about the current project.

Taking to social media, the veteran composer emphasized that Bhushan Kumar had credited him with warmth and respect, calling it a unique collaboration he’s genuinely proud of. He firmly stated that any reports suggesting discord are based on incorrect information, adding that he stands by this collaboration with both pride and gratitude. The Musical Legacy Continues

The teaser for Ghar Kab Aaoge has already generated massive buzz, featuring powerhouse vocals from Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra, and Diljit Dosanjh. While composer Mithoon recreated the melody, it stays true to Malik’s soul-stirring 1997 original. The lyrics blend Javed Akhtar’s legendary words with fresh lines penned by Manoj Muntashir Shukla, creating a bridge between nostalgia and contemporary emotion.

For Malik, Sandese Aate Hain (the original title) has always been more than just a chart-topper—it’s an emotional anthem for soldiers and their families. Director Anurag Singh aims to capture that same patriotic heartbeat in Border 2, which features a star-studded cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Produced by T-Series and JP Films, the sequel is one of 2026’s most anticipated releases. Stay updated on all Bollywood releases at technosports.co.in.
