AMD makes the Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Cooled Edition official

AMD recently stated on Social media that it would be making a limited number of its Radeon RX 6900 XT liquid-cooled reference graphics cards. It later announced that its AMD-designed liquid-cooled Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card is a limited-edition product exclusively for select system integrators.

AMD will be making a limited number of Radeon RX 6900 XT liquid-cooled reference design graphics cards available to select system integrators. System integrators are a critical part of the gaming ecosystem and offering this model through their channels helps ensure that as many of these products as possible get into gamers’ hands.

However, by its social media announcements, AMD confirmed that its RX 6900 XT LC is a limited edition model and that the SKU will be exclusive to the system integrators. This states that purchasing the card will be impossible for anyone without the system unless someone is selling the card separately on a second-hand market or a system integrator is selling the card without the system. In both cases, it will have to be without the approval of AMD.

But there appear to be three Indian retailers selling the same card from AMD. All three stores list the same price of 223,020 rupees (3,007 USD). And the same price and similar physical store addresses suggest that they are sold by the same retailer/distributor operating through different domains. But AMD has never said that system integrators’ exclusivity applies only to certain regions.

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT LC is a part of the RDNA2 series. It features Navi 21 XTXH GPU with a 2435 MHz boot clock and is also the first RDNA2 model to ship with an 18 Gbps memory clock. AMD is yet to launch this card through the DIY channel, and there is no official SRP (suggested retail price) provided. But even if this card did cost 1500 USD, the listings above would still be twice as high. It will be interesting to see the actual truth behind this listing.
