AMD launches the Ryzen 4000 Renoir Desktop APUs - 7nm Zen 2 CPU & Vega GPU in one chip

The lions share of Intel seems to fade as AMD Ryzen 4000 becomes strong

Maybe this was the outcome we all been waiting to see, yes, team Red is making steady progress in the notebook market. Its recent sales in the last one to two years have helped AMD gain as much as 20% of the notebook processor share in 2020 as reported by Digitimes.

Intel has already lost to AMD in the desktop CPU market sales and now gone are the days of dominance from Intel as the budget-conscious people are now loving Ryzen mobile APUs. From ultra-low-budget Chromebooks to flagship 2-in-1s, Ryzen has found a place in every mobile device.

Good news AMD fans, Lenovo launches new gaming laptops with Ryzen 4000H processors starting at $660

OEMs now whole-heartedly use AMD processors on notebooks while Intel still remain their main driver, but, thanks to the pricing of AMD, the budget notebooks are not crappy anymore. If you feel its only Digitimes that has made this bold claim then you are wrong because even Mercury Research says the market share of AMD laptops is now 19.9%.

Tiger Lake is promising, but Ryzen 4000 Renoir APUs are strong as well and at the price which they come in Intel cannot even think of. On top of that, to add to Intel’s bad luck, Apple will not use Intel chips on Macs which is a huge setback for team Blue.

The only constraint for AMD now is the supplies, it could have even exceeded the 20% market share if they had ample stocks from TSMC, however, they assure that Ryzen 4000 will be back in stocks and we will see more laptops coming in.
