AMD Slingshot 2026 Grand Finale: Hyderabad Team Wins With AI Braille Platform, 40,000+ Innovators Participate

India’s largest student AI innovation competition just concluded — and the winner is a team that built something that genuinely matters. AMD India wrapped up the AMD Slingshot 2026 Grand Finale in New Delhi, crowning Team BlisCare from Hyderabad as national champions for their AI-powered Braille learning platform designed to make education accessible for visually impaired students.

The scale of this year’s programme is worth pausing on: over 40,000 participants, 3,700+ AI prototype submissions, and a five-month journey across ten Indian cities before the national finale.

The Winners

Team BlisCare’s win is particularly meaningful. An AI platform that converts educational content into Braille — reducing one of the most persistent accessibility barriers in Indian education — is exactly the kind of solution that demonstrates what happens when AI innovation is directed at real social problems rather than optimisation exercises.

RyFlow from Jaipur deserves equal attention: an offline-first AI productivity platform that works without continuous internet access addresses a structural reality for hundreds of millions of Indians in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities where connectivity remains unreliable.

The Scale of AMD Slingshot 2026

AMD Slingshot is not a college hackathon — it is a five-month national programme that combines technical learning, mentorship, and entrepreneurial development before any competition even begins.

Campus events spanned Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Pune, Bhopal, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Delhi — covering every major tech and engineering hub in India. Participants worked through AI workshops, build sessions, prompt-a-thons, and startup-style pitching experiences across all ten cities before regional winners advanced to the New Delhi finale.

The Jury

Finalists presented their innovations before a distinguished panel:

• Vinay Sinha — Corporate Vice President & Managing Director, Sales, AMD India
• Rohit Kapoor — CEO, Food Marketplace, Swiggy
• Bipin Preet Singh — Founder & CEO, MobiKwik
• Abhinav Jain — Co-founder & CEO, Almonds AI
• Addison Appu — Managing Partner, ThinKuvate

The jury composition — spanning enterprise tech, consumer fintech, and venture capital — reflects AMD’s intent to evaluate innovations not just on technical merit but on real-world viability and startup potential.

Why AMD Is Investing in India’s AI Talent Pipeline

AMD’s India bet is not just about selling EPYC server processors or Ryzen AI laptops. India produces more engineering graduates per year than any other country — and AMD, competing head-to-head with NVIDIA’s developer ecosystem for the next generation of AI builders, has a direct interest in whether those graduates build on AMD’s ROCm stack or CUDA.

“AMD Slingshot has been created to give young innovators a platform to experiment, build, and transform ideas into impactful AI solutions,” said Vinay Sinha, Corporate Vice President & Managing Director, AMD India. “The scale of participation and quality of innovation we witnessed demonstrate the tremendous potential of India’s emerging AI ecosystem.”

That is not boilerplate. 3,700 AI prototype submissions from students across India — covering accessibility, urban planning, offline-first productivity, and more — is a data point about where India’s next wave of AI product builders is headed. AMD is trying to be the platform they build on.

India’s AI Startup Ecosystem: The Bigger Picture

The event arrives at a moment when India’s AI startup scene is arguably the most active it has ever been. Google’s Gemini Intelligence rollout targets India as a priority market. Anthropic’s Claude Platform on AWS has India-based cloud infrastructure partners actively onboarding. NVIDIA’s $81.6 billion quarterly earnings are partly fuelled by AI infrastructure investments that include Indian hyperscalers.

The students who submitted 3,700 prototypes to AMD Slingshot 2026 are the engineers who will staff, found, and build the companies consuming that infrastructure over the next decade. Programmes like Slingshot — which blend technical mentorship with entrepreneurial thinking and access to a real jury of investors and operators — are how talent pipelines get built.

The Bottom Line

Team BlisCare’s AI Braille platform winning AMD Slingshot 2026 is the right outcome for the right reasons — accessibility-focused AI solving a problem that affects millions of visually impaired students in India, built by students who had the platform, mentorship, and resources to take it from idea to prototype. AMD’s investment in a five-month, 40,000-participant national programme shows a company that understands India’s AI ecosystem is not just a market to sell chips into, but a talent base to develop.

India’s next wave of AI builders is already building. AMD just helped 40,000 of them get started.
