AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series: World’s First Copilot+ Desktop CPUs

AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series and Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series processors have been unveiled at MWC Barcelona 2026 — the world’s first desktop CPUs built for Microsoft Copilot+ PC experiences, with up to 50 TOPS of on-device AI compute, Zen 5 cores, and AM5 socket support. Mobile workstations and laptops get the PRO 400 Series treatment with up to 60 TOPS and 30% faster multithreaded performance over Intel.

What Makes Ryzen AI 400 Series Different

This isn’t just a spec bump. The Ryzen AI 400 Series is AMD’s first desktop lineup with a dedicated XDNA 2 NPU capable of running AI assistants, local LLMs, and Copilot+ features entirely on-device — no cloud required. That matters for privacy, latency, and performance consistency.

The desktop chips combine Zen 5 CPU cores with AMD RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics and the NPU into a single package, targeting office professionals, developers, and power users on AM5 boards. Low-power 35W GE variants of every model make them viable for compact and all-in-one form factors too.

On the mobile side, the Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series is now extending into workstations for the first time — validated with leading ISV software for engineering, design, and technical workflows that demand CPU, GPU, and NPU working in tandem.

The AMD PRO platform underpins the entire commercial lineup with enterprise-grade remote management, letting IT admins diagnose and recover systems without a physical visit — critical for organisations rolling out AI PCs at scale. With HP, Dell, and Lenovo all committed for Q2 2026, availability across desktops, laptops, and workstations is shaping up to be broad from day one.
