AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Benchmarks Leak: A Powerful Contender to RTX 4070 Ti and 4080 Super

The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is making waves in the gaming community, with leaked benchmarks suggesting it could be a serious competitor to NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 Ti and even the RTX 4080 Super. Built on AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture, this GPU promises impressive performance, particularly in ray tracing, and could be a game-changer for gamers and PC enthusiasts alike. Let’s break down the leaked performance numbers and features that make the RX 9070 XT a hot topic in the tech world.

Performance Benchmarks: A Close Rival to NVIDIA

Recent leaks from the Chiphell forums reveal that the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT delivers performance on par with NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 Ti and comes close to the RTX 4080 Super in certain scenarios. The benchmarks were conducted on two demanding games, Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong, showcasing the GPU’s capabilities in both ray tracing and native resolution gaming.

Cyberpunk 2077 (Ray Tracing Enabled, Native Resolution)

The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT was tested with ray tracing enabled and no upscaling, delivering the following frame rates:

• 1080p: 85 fps
• 1440p: 52 fps
• 4K: 26 fps

When compared to NVIDIA’s GPUs:

• The RTX 4070 Ti delivered similar performance, with minor differences due to margin of error.
• The RTX 4080 Super outperformed the RX 9070 XT by 19% at 1080p, 25% at 1440p, and 23% at 4K.

While the RTX 4080 Super has a clear edge at higher resolutions, the RX 9070 XT holds its ground, especially at 1080p and 1440p, making it a strong contender for gamers who prioritize performance at these resolutions.

Black Myth: Wukong (Native Resolution, No Ray Tracing)

In Black Myth: Wukong, the RX 9070 XT showed even more competitive results:

• 1080p: 97 fps
• 1440p: 73 fps
• 4K: 30 fps

Here, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT outperformed the RTX 4070 Ti by 7-11% and came within 2-10% of the RTX 4080 Super, depending on the resolution. This highlights the GPU’s ability to handle demanding games at native resolutions without relying on upscaling technologies

Ray Tracing: Closing the Gap with NVIDIA

One of the most exciting aspects of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is its ray tracing performance. Historically, NVIDIA has dominated this space, but AMD’s latest GPU shows significant improvements. The benchmarks indicate that the RX 9070 XT can deliver competitive ray tracing performance, making it a viable option for gamers who want realistic lighting and shadows in their games.

While the RTX 4080 Super still has an advantage in ray tracing, the RX 9070 XT’s performance is impressive, especially considering its likely price point. This could make it an attractive choice for gamers looking for a balance between performance and affordability.

Built on RDNA 4: Efficiency and Power

The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is based on AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture, which promises better efficiency and performance compared to its predecessors. While specific details about power consumption and thermal performance are not yet available, AMD’s focus on efficiency suggests that the RX 9070 XT could offer excellent performance without excessive power draw or heat generation.

This makes the RX 9070 XT a great option for gamers who want high performance without the need for expensive cooling solutions or power supplies.

What to Expect Before the Launch

The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is set to launch in just 10 days, and more reliable benchmarks are expected to surface as the release date approaches. While the current leaks are promising, it’s important to take them with a grain of salt until official reviews are available. However, if these numbers hold true, the RX 9070 XT could be one of the most exciting GPUs of 2025.

Final Thoughts

The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is shaping up to be a formidable competitor in the GPU market. With its impressive performance in both ray tracing and native resolution gaming, it has the potential to disrupt the market and challenge NVIDIA’s dominance. As we await the official launch, the RX 9070 XT is already generating excitement among gamers and PC enthusiasts, and it could very well be one of the most talked-about GPUs of the year.
