AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT GPUs prices surfaced online, priced at $379 and $449 respectively
After months of wait, finally, AMD unveiled its Navi GPUs at the Computex 2019. They showed their new RDNA architecture that provides you with a 1.25x higher IPC and 1.5x more performance per watt than it previously used to be with the GCN architecture.
So, the new 7nm based Navi RX 5000 series GPUs were unveiled, as for now only 3 of them were introduced: Radeon RX 5700, RX 5700 XT, and 50thAnniversary Edition RX 5700 XT.
The RX 5700 series was told to be the direct competitor to the RTX 2070 but the pricing was not yet clarified. But now we have leaked price details.
The Radeon RX 5700 will cost $379, while the more powerful AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT will cost $449. On the other hand, NVIDIA’s nearest competitors to these cards are the RTX 2060 which costs $349 and RTX 2070 which retails for $499.
AMD did show some tests and benchmarks at the event, showing these cards to be superior to NVIDIA’s GPUs. But the margins were very close, but still the real world performance and productivity benchmarks were not compared.
Initially, Navi GPUs do lack Ray Tracing but they do feature the faster PCIe Gen 4.
So, until and unless AMD proves its users that these GPUs will perform well in games as well as in productivity tasks, users will always prefer the RTX GPUs which is getting more and more games with Ray tracing support.
Both the Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT will hit the shelves on 7th July 2019. No words have been released on the 50th Anniversary Edition RX 5700 XT GPU but it can be priced around $500 and can arrive late in August.
