16 core Ryzen 9 3950X is the fastest CPU, beats Intel’s $2000 Core i9-9980XE

Upcoming 7nm Ryzen 9 3950X ($749) is the fastest CPU ever, beating Intel’s 18 core i9-9980XE ($2000) by significant margins

Ryzen 3000 CPUs are on its verge of launch in the coming month. With days we are getting more and more benchmarks of these 7nm processors.

A well know chip detective, TUM_APISAK shared the Geekbench score of another 16 Core/32 Thread Matisse (Ryzen 3000) CPU online, still, we do not know if it is the final consumer product or not may be an engineering sample.

AMD launches new 7nm Ryzen 3000 CPUs based on Zen 2 architecture

This CPU beats Intel’s well-known i9-9900K as well as Intel’s flagship Core i9-9980XE that retails for $2000. The Red team’s new beast outperforms Intel’s monster by huge margins in both single core and multi-core performance, even though it’s still unclear if its the retail Ryzen 9 3950X or not.

Previously a Geekbench result was spotted of this 16 core beast but on an X470 motherboard. This result is generated on an X570 motherboard using the PCIe Gen 4 for faster file transfer and high bandwidths.

Now if you see the benchmarks, the Ryzen 9 3950X look-alike beats the Core i9-9900K with highest single-core score and Core i9-9980XE with the fastest multi-threaded score.

Intel’s ‘best gaming CPU’ manages to score 6,213 points in the single-core test and 34,066 in the multi-core benchmark. While the 18 core Core i9-9980XE score 5,377 points in single core benchmark and a whopping 46,175 points in the multi-core test.

Here the Red team’s upcoming beast Ryzen 9 3950X manages to score 6,714 points in single core benchmark and 64,953 points in the multi-threaded test. So, it beats the Intel competition overall by healthy margins that suggest this CPU to be best for gaming as well as productivity.

The high-end Core i9-9980XE based on the 14nm Skylake architecture has a hefty price of $2000, while AMD’s new beast is said to be costing $749 only. It is the first time ever that AMD totally outperforms Intel’s nearest competitions by huge margins for both single and multi-core tests.

The new 7nm Zen 2 architecture just shows its worth and efficiency that its competitor’s highly priced CPUs that can’t even stand against these new CPUs.

Now Intel neither can boast of its single-core performance that helped gaming nor for multi threaded workloads. If they do not lower their CPU prices or bring the 10nm architecture to desktop processors, it will be too late for the company to stand against the likes of AMD.
