Amazon India has announced its biggest seller fee reduction to date — expanding zero referral fees coverage more than 10x, from 1.2 crore products in 2025 to over 12.5 crore products in 2026. Effective March 16, the move is expected to save sellers up to 70% in fees, with the biggest benefits flowing to small businesses and entrepreneurs in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Real Savings, Real Numbers

The fee changes aren’t just headline percentages — Amazon has shared concrete per-unit examples that show the impact clearly. A fashion jewellery seller on Easy Ship offering a ₹999 necklace set saves ₹224 per unit (69% reduction), with total fees dropping from ₹324 to just ₹100. A seller moving earphones at ₹798 via Fulfilled by Amazon saves ₹139 per unit (56% reduction). Even at the budget end, a ₹299 T-shirt seller saves ₹15 per unit — a 21% reduction — which adds up fast at volume.

Categories covered span a wide range: t-shirts, shoes, earphones, bed sheets, sarees, electric kettles, coffee tables, chairs, pet accessories, fashion jewellery, toys, and more.

Amazon also reduced Easy Ship fees by over 20% for sub-₹300 products specifically to support sellers operating from their own premises — a segment that previously found it hard to make thin-margin, low-ticket items viable on the platform. The results speak for themselves: Ritesh Bajaj, founder of Tulsi, saw 1.5x business growth after last year’s fee waiver on sub-₹300 products.
