Amazon has partnered with Xbox to bring cloud gaming to select Fire TV devices in India, eliminating the need for a console to play hundreds of Xbox titles. This launch follows Microsoft’s recent expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming in the country, making premium gaming more accessible than ever.

Xbox Cloud Gaming on Fire TV: Compatible Devices

The integration works with Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, and Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen). Users need a compatible Bluetooth controller and an Xbox Game Pass subscription to start streaming games directly on their TV.

Quick Setup Guide

Step	Action
1. Check Device	Verify you own a compatible Fire TV Stick 4K or Cube (3rd Gen)
2. Download App	Get the Xbox app from Amazon Appstore on Fire TV
3. Sign In	Log in with your Microsoft account
4. Subscribe	Get Xbox Game Pass (starts at ₹499/month)
5. Connect Controller	Pair Xbox, DualSense, or DualShock 4 via Bluetooth
6. Start Playing	Browse Game Pass library and stream instantly

Xbox Game Pass Pricing in India

Game Pass Essential costs ₹499/month with 50+ games, Premium is ₹699/month with 200+ titles, and Ultimate is ₹1,389/month with 400+ games including day-one releases. PC Game Pass is priced separately at ₹939/month.

These prices represent a significant increase from earlier rates—Ultimate jumped from ₹649 to ₹1,389—but include expanded game libraries and new features. For reference, buying just two AAA games annually costs ₹8,000-₹10,000, making Game Pass economical for active gamers.

What Games Can You Play?

The service includes new releases like Hollow Knight: Silksong and Indian titles such as Raji: An Ancient Epic, alongside blockbuster franchises like Halo, Forza, and Gears of War. Players can also access Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Detective Dotson, and The Palace on the Hill.

All games stream from the cloud, requiring no downloads or storage space on your Fire TV device. Simply browse the library and start playing within seconds.

Performance Requirements

For smooth gameplay, you need a high-speed internet connection of 20 Mbps or higher. A 5GHz Wi-Fi connection is recommended, though wired Ethernet provides the lowest latency. Microsoft deployed local servers in Pune and Chennai for improved performance in India.

Why This Matters

Amazon emphasized that Xbox Game Pass on Fire TV delivers console-quality gaming without requiring an Xbox, offering flexibility to move your setup between TVs or take it anywhere. Your game progress syncs across all devices, so you can start on Fire TV and continue on your phone or PC.
