Allu Arjun Pushpa Box Office Collection

The wildfire success of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule has been the talk of the town since its release, but as the film enters its seventh week in theaters, the box office momentum seems to be slowing down. Directed by Sukumar, the action-packed sequel has amassed an impressive ₹1731.65 crore globally by day 45, but it’s still falling short of the lofty expectations set by its makers.

Despite the release of an extended cut on January 17, which added new footage to reignite fan excitement, the film’s earnings have seen a significant decline, with a 61.58% drop in the sixth week. While Pushpa 2 has undoubtedly been a massive success, it now faces an uphill battle to reach the ₹1800 crore mark, let alone challenge the records set by Baahubali 2 and Dangal.

Allu Arjun Pushpa Box Office Collection : Pushpa 2’s Box Office Journey So Far

Pushpa 2: The Rule stormed into theaters with sky-high expectations, riding on the success of its predecessor and Allu Arjun’s electrifying performance as Pushpa Raj. The film quickly became a global phenomenon, breaking records and earning praise for its gripping storyline, intense action sequences, and chart-topping music.

By day 45, the film has collected an estimated ₹1731.65 crore worldwide, with ₹270.5 crore coming from overseas markets. However, the numbers tell a story of slowing momentum.

India Net Collection:
Pushpa 2 has earned ₹1226.75 crore in India, with the majority of its revenue coming from the Telugu and Hindi versions. The film’s business in Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil markets has dwindled significantly, with negligible earnings reported in recent days.
Overseas Performance:
The film’s overseas collection of ₹270.5 crore is impressive but not enough to push it past the records of Baahubali 2 and Dangal, which remain the biggest Indian films globally.

The Extended Cut: A Missed Opportunity?

To keep the momentum alive, the makers of Pushpa 2 released a reloaded version on January 17, featuring additional footage to draw fans back to theaters. While this strategy has worked for some films in the past, it seems to have had little impact on Pushpa 2’s box office performance.

The extended cut failed to generate the buzz needed to sustain the film’s earnings, leaving it in a precarious position as it enters its seventh week. On day 45 (January 18), the film earned an estimated ₹1.1 crore, with ₹0.3 crore coming from the Telugu version and ₹0.8 crore from the Hindi version.

How Does Pushpa 2 Compare to Baahubali 2 and Dangal?

While Pushpa 2 has been a blockbuster success, it still falls short of the records set by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 and Aamir Khan’s Dangal:

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion
- Total Gross: ₹1790 crore
- Pushpa 2 is inching closer to Baahubali 2’s record but is unlikely to surpass it given the current trends.
Dangal
- Total Gross: ₹2070 crore
- Dangal remains the highest-grossing Indian film of all time, and Pushpa 2 is far from challenging its record.

Despite these comparisons, Pushpa 2 has cemented its place as one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema, thanks to Allu Arjun’s star power and Sukumar’s masterful direction.

What’s Next for Pushpa 2?

With its theatrical run nearing its end, Pushpa 2’s chances of crossing the ₹1800 crore mark are slim. However, the film’s legacy is far from over. Its success has already paved the way for a potential third installment in the franchise, and fans are eagerly awaiting what’s next for Pushpa Raj.

Additionally, the film’s digital release is expected to generate significant revenue, further solidifying its status as a blockbuster.

Conclusion

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule has been a monumental success, captivating audiences worldwide with its gripping narrative and powerful performances. While the film’s box office momentum has slowed in recent weeks, its impact on Indian cinema is undeniable.

Though it may not surpass the records set by Baahubali 2 and Dangal, Pushpa 2 has carved out its own legacy as a blockbuster phenomenon. With its theatrical run winding down, fans can look forward to the film’s digital release and the possibility of a third installment in the franchise.

For now, Pushpa Raj’s reign continues, and the wildfire he ignited shows no signs of being extinguished anytime soon. Pushpa 2 may not be the biggest Indian movie, but it’s undoubtedly one of the most unforgettable.
