The Moroccan started out in the academy of Ligue 1 club Lens and only made one appearance for them. He then joined Tottenham on a two-year loan, which was eventually made permanent. However, he wasn’t able to nail down a place in the line-up and he eventually left for Queen’s Park Rangers.

With them, he showed his true potential and helped them gain promotion into the Premier League. He was also named the Championship player of the season in 2010/11, and went on to feature for Fulham and AC Milan.

Over the course of his career, Adel Taarabt has earned 30 caps for the Moroccan national team, scoring four goals. He joins a growing list of players to have left European football for an opportunity in the Middle East.
