Akanksha Chamola’s Lock Upp 2 Confession Adds A New Layer To Her Split From Gaurav Khanna

Reality TV has a way of turning private conversations into public headlines overnight. On the latest episode of Lock Upp 2, actress Akanksha Chamola opened up about a deeply personal chapter of her life — one that came up only after a co-contestant brought it into the spotlight.

What Happened On The Show

Fellow contestant Shreya Kalra revealed she’d overheard Akanksha discussing her sexuality backstage, prompting Akanksha to address it herself on camera. Visibly emotional, she shared that she identified as bisexual before her marriage and had been in relationships with a few women, describing them as meaningful but not deeply intimate.

She spoke about feeling a natural comfort and safety around women, describing that connection as something she has always admired and been drawn to, especially growing up in a world she felt was male-dominated. She was clear that, for her, this was never about labels — just a genuine sense of connection.

The Bigger Picture

Akanksha clarified there’s no animosity between her and Gaurav Khanna — the two remain in touch and simply recognized they wanted different things out of life. Her openness about her sexuality on a mainstream reality show reflects a broader, ongoing shift in how personal identity is discussed publicly in India, a conversation closely tied to evolving LGBT rights in India.

Gaurav Khanna has also spoken publicly since the divorce news broke, offering his support and confirming there’s mutual respect between them going forward.
