Akanksha Chamola Chooses Freedom Over Love After Gaurav Khanna Divorce — And We’re Here for It

Akanksha Chamola’s bombshell confession on Lock Upp 2 is the emotional gut-punch no one saw coming — and her words about freedom are resonating with thousands.

After months of speculation, Akanksha Chamola has officially confirmed she is divorcing Anupamaa fame actor Gaurav Khanna, ending nearly 10 years of marriage. And while fans are still processing the news, Akanksha is already looking ahead — on her own terms.

What Happened on Lock Upp 2?

In the premiere episode of the reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, Akanksha revealed the couple had been living separately for a year. “It wasn’t public, but that’s my secret,” she told hosts and co-contestants.

She was quick to stress there’s no bitterness. She clarified that things are not bad between them and they still talk — they simply see very different futures for themselves.

Then came the moment everyone is talking about. When fellow contestant Shreya Kalra asked if she’d fall in love again, Akanksha shut it down immediately: “I am not planning to fall in love again at the moment; I want to enjoy my freedom.”

Why Her Statement Hits Differently

There’s something deeply relatable about a woman — who married young, built her world around a relationship, and came out the other side — choosing herself first. Akanksha noted she got married at 24 and spent her entire adult life navigating the responsibilities of that marriage.

That’s not a small thing to say on national television. It’s honest. It’s brave. And it’s the kind of real that reality TV rarely delivers.
