Ajay Devgn Makes His TV Debut with Crime Patrol: When and Where to Watch?

Crime Patrol: One of Indian television’s longest-running franchises is back, and this time it comes with genuine star power. Sony Entertainment Television has confirmed that Crime Patrol – Crime Ka Current Season premieres August 31, 2026, marking Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn’s first-ever foray into television hosting.

A Familiar Show, A New Voice

Devgn steps into a role long associated with Anup Soni, though reports clarify he’ll feature as a special host rather than a permanent replacement. Sony has already confirmed 15 episodes have been shot, with Devgn’s commanding on-screen presence and narration built around guiding viewers through stories inspired by real crime cases that have shaken the nation.

A Show Built for Today’s World

Rather than leaning purely on fear, Devgn’s narration promises to serve as a guide encouraging viewers to stay alert and cautious, particularly around how social media and modern digital culture increasingly influence human behaviour. “Coming together with a show like Crime Patrol feels like a responsibility to my fans and viewers,” Devgn said, describing the franchise’s legacy of building awareness among audiences.

Why It Matters

With its new late-night slot right after India’s biggest game show, Sony is clearly betting on Devgn’s star power to give this long-running franchise fresh relevance for a new generation of viewers. Full show updates are available on SonyLIV’s official website.
