After a long time, Samsung tops beating Apple in the US smartphone market

South Korean giant Samsung has been sold the largest number of smartphones in the United States and beating its rival Apple for the first time in three years.

According to Market Research Strategy Analytics, Samsung earned a 33.7% share in the July-September period in the US market, which is an increment of 6.7% points compared to the same period last year. Whereas, Apple ranked 2nd position with a 30.2% share, followed by South Korean Smartphone maker LG with a 14.7% share.

Recently, Samsung has released a bunch of new mid-range devices as well as the premium tire smartphones- including Galaxy Note 20 Series and the Galaxy Z fold2 Foldable. This is one of the most important reasons to get the top position.

According to the Market Research Strategy Analytics, due to the delay launching of iPhone 12 series is the main reason to get the second position, it means that Apple did not get the traditional boost in sales that previous generations delivered (usually new iPhone available in September).

Usually, Apple releases its new iPhone in September, but this year due to the COVID situation Apple began to sell new smartphones from October.

According to the Global Data by the analysts, the South Korean Giant Samsung was the leading vendor in Q3, and shipping 21.9% of smartphones, whereas Huawei shipped 14.1% and Xiaomi shipped 11.9%. The US titan, Apple earned for 11.9% of smartphone shipped worldwide in the third quarter of this running year. But after iPhone 12 series launched, it is expected that the fourth quarter should be more hotly contested.
