Chelsea celebrated their 118th foundation anniversary on 10th March, in a year that hasn’t been the best for the Blues. They are currently out of the FA Cup and are 10th in the Premier League, but qualified for the quarter finals of the Champions League by defeating Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16.
The goals have been hard to come by, and the results have been disastrous to say the least. But the team showed signs of life in their last two games, defeating Leeds United 1-0 and Dortmund 2-0 at home to get back to winning ways under Graham Potter.

There was also a change in ownership over the last year, with Roman Abramovich being replaced by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital. And under their new American owner, the spending has been lavish. But the results haven’t come just yet.
However, the project that the club seems to be building is set for the long-term, not the short. But in spite of their lack of success this season, Chelsea remain the most successful club to come out of London.
While they might not be able to parallel Arsenal in terms of domestic success in the FA Cup and Premier League, they are the most successful European club from the English capital.
Chelsea have won the Europa League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the Cup Winners Cup twice each, while also winning the FIFA Club World Cup once.
