Much like the original Elden Ring, these NPCs breathe life into the world, offering cryptic lore, valuable assistance, and intriguing side quests. But who exactly are these enigmatic figures, and where can you find them on your quest? Fear not, fellow adventurer, for this guide will illuminate the path!

Loyal Followers of Miquella

Leading the charge are the devoted acolytes of Miquella, the slumbering Empyrean. Here, you’ll encounter:

Needle Knight Leda:

Your first encounter with Leda occurs near Mohg’s boss chamber. A stalwart devotee of Miquella, she leads the search party for the missing Empyrean. Look for her summon sign to lend a hand in battles like the fight against Rellana.

Redmane Freyja:

A fierce warrior once under General Radahn’s command, Freyja is deeply indebted to Miquella for saving her from the Scarlet Rot. You’ll find her alongside Hornsent at the Three-Path Site of Grace, and later, she can be summoned to aid you against the Divine Beast Dancing Lion.

Hornsent:

Harboring a deep hatred for the Erdtree and Messmer, Hornsent initially appears hostile. However, he begrudgingly joins the acolytes, believing Miquella will bring justice. Find him at the Three-Path Site of Grace, near Redmane Freyja.

Aiding Your Shadowy Journey

Beyond the acolytes, other noteworthy figures populate the Shadow Realm:

Ansbach:

A seasoned commander and one of the oldest members of the search party, Ansbach offers valuable insights and plays a pivotal role in the narrative. Find him at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace.

Moore:

This gentle soul acts as a quartermaster, supplying you with cookbooks and essential items for your quest. You’ll find Moore stationed beside Ansbach at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace.

Dryleaf Dane:

A member of the Dryleaf Sect, Father Dane, or Dryleaf Dane, is a master of unique martial arts. While a man of few words, his strategic mind proves invaluable. Seek him out by the Moorth Ruins Site of Grace, accessible after defeating Rellana.

Merchants and Mystics

The Shadow Realm isn’t just about warriors. Keen-eyed explorers will also encounter:

Thiollier:

A disciple of St. Trina, Thiollier finds himself in an unusual predicament. He aligns with Miquella’s followers in search of the Empyrean’s enchantment. This peculiar merchant specializes in all things toxic, and you can find him at the Pillar Path Site of Grace.

Dragon Communion Ascetics:

Descendants of the ancient dragon worshippers, these NPCs revere Dragonlord Placidusax. The Dragon Communion Priestess offers an optional quest involving Bayle the Dread. Locate her at the Pillar Path Site of Grace.

Hidden Gems of the Shadow Realm

For those who delve deeper, additional secrets await:

Hornsent Grandam:

Within Belurat Tower lies a hidden room harboring Hornsent Grandam. Initially distrustful, she seeks revenge on Messmer after the Golden Order’s massacre. You can find her locked room to the left of the Private Altar Site of Grace.

Igon:

A weary Dragonslayer stationed at the Pillar Path Waypoint Site of Grace, Igon initially pleads for his demise. However, completing the Bayle the Dread questline unlocks his assistance in the fight.

This guide serves as a starting point for your encounters in the Shadow Realm. As you explore further, you may uncover even more intriguing characters and their hidden stories. Remember, the Lands Between are vast and ever-evolving.

Don’t be afraid to stray from the beaten path, chat with seemingly insignificant NPCs, and investigate cryptic messages. A friendly gesture to a seemingly hostile enemy might unlock a secret questline, while a seemingly harmless item description could hold the key to a powerful hidden weapon.

With a keen eye and a thirst for adventure, the Shadow Realm will surely reward your curiosity. So venture forth, Tarnished, and unravel the mysteries that lie within! Let your own legend be etched into the fabric of the Lands Between!
