AMD‘s flagship workstation processor just shattered expectations. The Threadripper PRO 9995WX achieved a monstrous 5GHz overclock across all 96 Zen 5 cores, delivering unprecedented Cinebench scores while consuming nearly 950W of power.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX CPU Overclocked To 5 GHz Across All 96 Cores

The latest benchmark results showcase AMD’s upcoming workstation champion pushed to its absolute limits. Running at 5GHz across all cores, the 9995WX scored an incredible 186,800 points in Cinebench R23—a massive leap from previous independent benchmarks showing 173,452 points at stock settings.

This represents a staggering 70% performance increase over its predecessor, the Threadripper PRO 7995WX.

Overclocking Performance Breakdown

Clock Speed	Cinebench R23	Power Draw	Temperature
Stock PBO	173,452 points	840W	~95°C
5.0GHz OC	186,800 points	947W	98°C
4.9GHz OC	181,545 points	~920W	~96°C

The extreme overclock pushed power consumption to 947W while maintaining reasonable temperatures of 98°C under standard AIO cooling. The test system featured an ASUS Pro WS RTX50-SAGE WIFI motherboard with 144GB DDR5-6000 memory.

Technical Specifications

AMD’s flagship packs serious hardware: 96 cores, 192 threads, up to 5.4GHz boost clocks, and 384MB L3 cache. Built on TSMC’s 4nm process with 13 chiplets (12 CCDs + 1 IOD), it supports 8-channel DDR5-6400 memory and delivers 144 usable PCIe lanes.

The chip launches July 23rd alongside the Threadripper 9000 family, starting at $11,699 for the flagship model.

While impressive, the 5GHz result trails the world record Threadripper PRO 7995WX by 11%—but that required liquid nitrogen cooling at 6.25GHz. Under LN2, the 9995WX could potentially reach 250,000 Cinebench points.
