From 2NE1’s “THEBLACKLABEL” to a Reunion Fans Never Stopped Dreaming About

Meta title: CL in Talks to Sign With THEBLACKLABEL: What It Means for K-PopMeta description: THEBLACKLABEL confirms exclusive contract talks with CL. Here’s the story, the Teddy reunion, and the label’s star-studded roster.

Fans have waited years for this kind of news. On October 28, THEBLACKLABEL officially confirmed, “We are currently discussing the signing of an exclusive contract with CL.” Nothing is final yet, but the K-pop world is already buzzing.

THEBLACKLABEL: Overview

How We Got Here?

CL debuted in 2009 under YG Entertainment as part of the group 2NE1. She left the company in 2019 and set up her own agency, Very Cherry. Now, seven years later, a new chapter may be starting.

Why the Teddy Connection Matters?

If CL signs, it will be a reunion with Teddy, who worked closely with her on 2NE1’s music during her YG years. For longtime fans, this is the headline. Creative partnerships like theirs don’t come around often, and many will be hoping for a sound that blends her bold identity with his production style.

Who Else Is on THEBLACKLABEL?

The label already has a strong, varied lineup:

• Taeyang of BIGBANG, a fellow YG alum
• Rosé of BLACKPINK, also a YG alum
• Jeon Somi
• MEOVV
• ALLDAY PROJECT

CL would join a roster that mixes solo stars and fresh groups, and it already includes familiar faces from her YG era.

What Happens Next?

Nothing is official until a contract is signed. Keep an eye on announcements from both CL and THEBLACKLABEL, and don’t count out a teaser or two once the paperwork is done.
