In 2021, we will see major laptop manufacturers going for all AMD and bring premium gaming laptops with Ryzen 5000H processors paired with RTX 30-series mobile GPUs. All of them launching together at CES 2021, a bunch of leaks up till now have confirmed this and this new does show Asus will be in the forefront of this.
The Taiwanese OEM had an amazing 2020 with their strong collaboration with AMD, however, all of these gaming laptops were restricted to RTX 2060, however, things is about to change in 2021. We already have seen a major performance bump in gaming with Ryzen 5000 series processors, thanks to AMD’s Zen 3 architecture.
So, today @TUM_APISAK has spotted yet another OpenCL benchmark of an ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX551QS laptop powered by the flagship 8 core 16 threaded AMD Ryzen 9 5900H paired with RTX 3080 Laptop GPU and a whopping 48GB DDR4 RAM.
As we see, the Ryzen 9 5900H will come with 16 MB L3 cache, 3.30 GHz base clock speed and 4.54 GHz boost (4.5GHz technically). On the other hand, the unannounced RTX 3080 mobile GPU features 48 compute units, 16GB VRAM and 1.54 GHz max clock frequency.
The GPU inside the laptop manages to score a whopping 139,181 points in OpenCL and it beats both TITAN RTX and RTX 2080 Ti desktop GPU, which is again amazing! Also, @TUM_APISAK spotted the OpenCL benchmark of the integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics with 2.10 GHz max frequency, scoring a respectable 16,478 points.
