iPhone 17 Purple & Green Colors Plus Pro’s Vapor Chamber Cooling

Apple is testing exciting new Purple and Green color options for the iPhone 17 base model, while the Pro series introduces groundbreaking vapor chamber cooling technology for superior thermal performance in September 2025.

iPhone 17’s New Colors Battle Pro’s Advanced Cooling Revolution

Apple is testing new Purple and Green color options for the iPhone 17 base model, with only one likely making the final cut. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro models will utilize vapor chamber cooling technology to improve thermal performance.

Purple appears to be the more likely choice for the final production run, building on previous rumors that the iPhone 16 would include purple options. The color selection reflects Apple’s strategy to refresh the base model lineup with vibrant alternatives.

The Pro series focuses on performance enhancements rather than color variety. Both the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will use vapor chamber cooling, ensuring performance under heavy load remains consistent without throttling. This represents Apple’s first implementation of vapor chamber technology in iPhones.

A leaker recently shared photos of an alleged copper thermal plate for the vapor chamber system, confirming the advanced cooling solution. The iPhone 17 Pro Max reportedly features a vapor chamber and graphite sheet cooling combination, setting a new thermal performance standard.

The thermal upgrade addresses long-standing concerns about iPhone performance throttling during intensive tasks like gaming, video editing, and computational photography. Android flagships have utilized vapor chamber cooling for years, making this a significant catch-up move for Apple.

Color enthusiasts hoping for both Purple and Green options may be disappointed, as Apple is said to be testing both colors but may choose only one. The decision likely depends on market research and production considerations.
