Vivo has confirmed that the Vivo X Fold 5 will make its debut in China on June 25. Leading up to the launch, the company has been teasing key features, including the phone’s design, colour variants, and technical upgrades. Now, fresh information has been shared that reveals that the X Fold 5 will be slimmer and lighter than the existing Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.

Vivo X Fold 5 Set for June 25 Launch with 80W Wired, 40W Wireless Charging and Reverse Charging Support

According to Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao on Weibo, the upcoming foldable will be around 2mm thinner and 20 grams lighter compared to the X Fold 3 Pro, which IS 11.2mm when folded and weighs 236g, which should mean the X Fold 5 will weigh around 216g and measure close to 9.2mm in folded thickness. The unfolded thickness is also believed to be less than 5mm, which would make it one of the skinniest foldables around.

In terms of charging, Vivo has confirmed that the phone will support 80W wired and 40W wireless fast charging, along with reverse wireless charging. The device will pack a 6,000mAh battery, a significant capacity for a foldable phone. It’s also built to be tough, boasting IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+ water resistance ratings, along with IP5X dust protection. Camera hardware will include a Zeiss-tuned triple rear camera setup, featuring a periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

For displays, the X Fold 5 will use 8T LTPO inner and cover panels, offering 4,500 nits peak brightness and high-frequency PWM dimming for better eye comfort. The foldable is also confirmed to support Apple ecosystem integration, making it compatible with iCloud, AirPods, MacBooks, and even the Apple Watch. It will be offered in green, titanium, and white colour options and is already available for pre-order on the Vivo China website.
