Fabrizio Romano managed to get another transfer prediction right, and this time, it was on the record on Patreon. The Italian transfer guru has now given his famous “Here We Go” to the transfer of Dominik Szoboszlai to RB Leipzig, which means that the deal will be officially announced by the two clubs shortly.
Arsenal and AC Milan were the two clubs that were monitoring the midfielder during his time at RB Salzburg. However, the player wanted regular playing time which made Arsenal and Leipzig the only two choices given AC Milan’s dominant midfield situation right now.
There were two main reasons behind the preference of RB Leipzig as the player’s destination. The first of course is the excellent relation between Leipzig and Salzburg considering they are sister clubs. Hence, the German club get preferences for talented players in Salzburg.
The second reason is the presence of Julian Naagelsmann at Leipzig. The young German coach has been doing some fantastic work with Leipzig, and has mare them regulars in the knockout stages of the Champions League, going as far as the semi-finals last season.
While the Hungarian midfielder will have to compete with the likes of Emil Forsberg and Marcel Sabitzer for playing time at the new club, it is only fair to assume that considering his young age, he will only get better.
Szoboszlai provided Salzburg with 4 goals and 5 assists in 10 games in the Austrian league. His eye for goal, as well as the ability to set up plays for his teammates, will surely make him a huge threat under Naagelsmann in Germany.
