A move to PSG imminent for Dele Alli

Having been frozen out of the squad by manager Jose Mourinho, Dele Alli is spending a lengthy spell away from the pitch. This is territory that is quite unfamiliar for the midfielder, who is not very happy with the situation himself.

There were talks in the summer about a move to Real Madrid, with Gareth Bale possibly moving permanently in the opposite direction. However, Bale returned to Spurs and Alli stayed at the club as well.

With the Europa League and Premier League games included, Alli has only played 234 minutes this season. His last significant appearance in the Premier League came against Manchester United in the 6-1 decimation of the Red Devils.

Alli has been one of Spurs’ brightest talents in recent years and is said to be highly valued by chairman Daniel Levy as well. That is one of the reasons why Levy has set a hefty £100 million price tag on the attacking midfielder’s head for possible suitors interested in his services permanently.

Coming through the ranks at home club MK Dons, Alli joined Spurs in 2015 and has made 231 appearances for the London whites across all competitions. He has managed to score 64 goals and provide 56 assists in all those appearances.

A move away from London is of the essence for the Englishman, in an attempt to find playing time and possibly contest a return to the England squad for EURO 2021.

Paris Saint-Germain is the club that is interested in the attacking midfielder, as they are keen to add some attacking quality to their rather flat midfield setup, consisting mostly of holding midfielders.

Alli could have some real freedom behind Mbappe and Neymar and combine effectively with the two stars to make PSG an even deadlier attacking threat.
