|---|---|
| Network | JTBC |
| Premiere | December 2026 |
| Setting | 1258, Goryeo Dynasty |

| Genre | Historical action drama |
The Story: A Kingdom on the Brink
The year is 1258, and after 30 years of war with Mongolia, the Goryeo Dynasty is close to defeat. Hope rests on the Avalokitesvara Bead, a sacred relic believed to hold divine power to protect the nation. An expedition unit marches onto the battlefield to find it, while a princess sets out to save them. For background on the era, see the Wikipedia page on Goryeo.
Meet the Two Commanders
| Character | Actor | Profile |
|---|---|---|
| Baek Gyeol | Ahn Bo Hyun | A young commander of the escort unit, formerly of the royal guard Gyeollyonggun |
| Choi Gu | Lee Sung Min | A battle-hardened veteran who leads Yabyeolcho, a special military unit |
Baek Gyeol: Bold, Ambitious and in Love
Baek Gyeol is a young commander who loves the emperor’s daughter. True to his royal guard roots, he’s bold, ambitious and strong-willed. He isn’t thrilled about teaming up with Yabyeolcho, yet he ends up on a life-threatening escort mission alongside them. The big question is how a commander determined to do things his own way will change in the harsh reality of war.
Choi Gu: The Cool-Headed Veteran
Choi Gu has fought in countless fierce battles. He’s picked to lead Yabyeolcho forces within the escort unit, which means partnering with a commander who has far less experience. Fans will be curious to see how his steady judgment shapes the younger man.
Why the Pairing Works?
The new stills show the two cooperating on the mission and, just as often, squaring off against each other. Their clashing personalities and experience levels lead to repeated conflicts, but the relic they guard is the people’s last hope. That mix of friction and shared purpose is the perfect recipe for slow-building respect.
You can also watch Ahn Bo Hyun in Yumi’s Cells and Lee Sung Min in Reborn Rich on Viki while you wait.
