Nadaaniyan OTT Release Date: Netflix has dropped a new promo for Nadaaniyan, the upcoming film starring Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Produced by Karan Johar, the promo is a playful throwback to his own 1998 classic Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, proving once again that his love for self-referencing is far from over.

The promo is a fun recreation of the iconic classroom scene from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, where Ms Braganza, played by Archana Puran Singh, talks about love. Fast forward 27 years, and Ms Braganza is back in the classroom, this time teaching Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Khushi Kapoor plays Pia, who, like Kajol’s Anjali in the original film, is confused when asked the eternal question: “What is love?” But before she can answer, Ibrahim Ali Khan’s character, Arjun, jumps in—just like Shah Rukh Khan’s Rahul did all those years ago. However, there’s a modern twist to his response. Instead of the famous “Pyaar dosti hai” (Love is friendship) line, Arjun confidently declares, “Pyaar ek arrangement hai.” (Love is an arrangement.)

Pia is clearly impressed by his take on love, and in a hilarious moment, she instantly transfers him ₹25,000. She then teases the audience, saying that to know what happens next, they’ll have to wait for the film’s release.

Nadaaniyan OTT Release Date

The promo also revealed the official release date of Nadaaniyan—March 7. Netflix shared the announcement through an Instagram post along with the promotional video. The caption read: “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai aisi Nadaaniyan dekh kar. Watch Nadaaniyan, out 7 March, only on Netflix.”

With its fresh take on romance, the film promises to be a fun, modern love story while paying homage to classic Bollywood moments.

Karan Johar’s Love for Self-Referencing

This isn’t the first time Karan Johar has referenced his own films. He has made a habit of weaving moments from his past projects into his newer ones. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani had clear nods to Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, while Ae Dil Hai Mushkil recreated the iconic Shah Rukh-Kajol rain scene. And who can forget Kiara Advani’s scene in Lust Stories, where she reaches her peak just as the title track of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham plays in the background?

New Rom-Com

Nadaaniyan seems to be a mix of romance and comedy with a Gen-Z twist. The promo itself gives a glimpse of the film’s fun, lighthearted tone, showing that while love stories have evolved, the drama and excitement remain the same. The film is likely to attract young audiences who enjoy modern love stories with a sprinkle of nostalgia.

As expected, the promo has sparked a wave of reactions online. Fans of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai are loving the nostalgia, while others are curious about the fresh pairing of Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Some viewers found the “Pyaar ek arrangement hai” line intriguing, hinting that the film might explore modern relationships in a unique way.

A user commented, “Ms Braganza is back! Karan Johar really knows how to keep his fans hooked with nostalgia.”

Another fan wrote, “The promo gives major KKHH vibes, but with a Gen-Z twist. Can’t wait to see how the story unfolds!”

Meanwhile, some were skeptical about whether the film would live up to expectations, with one user saying, “Bollywood needs to stop remaking the same love story again and again.”

With mixed reactions pouring in, Nadaaniyan has certainly created buzz ahead of its release.
