Yesterday, Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola broke the news that the Manchester United star was done with the club and that he would be moving on as soon as possible from Old Trafford.
One of the main questions among Manchester United fans upon hearing the sudden news was the timing of it all. Why did Mino Raiola have to break the news right before the make-or-break match of Manchester United’s season?
Fabrizio Romano answered that very question on Episode 15 of his “Here We Go” podcast on Patreon, a short episode completely dedicated to the Pogba transfer.
According to the fans, talking about leaving the club 24 hours before their Champions League match against Leipzig to seal qualification to the knockout stages is not respectful to the club.
Romano states that Raiola is not working for Manchester United and that he is only working for Pogba. His only concern is the welfare and of the future of his client and not of the club as a whole.Â
“He speaks when he feels is the right moment, and in this moment, I know it’s crazy, because Manchester United fans say ‘how you can do it before a Champions League match?'”
“He’s just thinking about the best for Pogba,” said Romano while talking about the timing of the headline-grabbing announcement.
“Pogba and Raiola are not looking for the right timing, they are looking for the right club to leave Manchester United.”
