The latest benchmark performance says that the Apple M1 is able to run ‘Windows 10 on ARM’ two times faster than Microsoft’s own hardware. The result on the benchmark shows that Windows 10 OS is was faster on Apple M1 than the Surface Pro X, which features the Snapdragon 8cx-based processor.
The Apple M1 processor was launched in September 2020, which is based on ARM hardware. The SoC of Apple runs macOS by default, and keeping both in mind; the processor is designed for performance and battery backup.
The OS from Microsoft should run technically on Apple, but it completely depends on Microsoft to make it a reality. Developers tried to run Windows 10 on ARM on the Apple M1. The virtualization technology to run Windows 10 on Apple hardware was successful, and the results come out way better than expected.
On Geekbench, Apple Mac Mini with Windows 10 ARM scored 5,450 points. At the same time, Surface Pro X was able to make a score of 3,113 points.
The developers had to run the test via virtualization because Microsoft doesn’t allow Apple to use its ARM version of Windows 10 in their hardware. The SoC is able to provide insane power and proper optimization to Windows 10. This could happen in the next year when the native support for the OS appears in the industry.
Qualcomm has assured by replying to the reports that the upcoming Snapdragon generations will be better.
