OnePlus 13R, Potential Successor to OnePlus 12R, Specifications Leak Amid Upcoming Launch

The OnePlus 12R is an excellent choice for the premium mid-range segment, making it cost-effective and competitive compared to its flagship brethren in the form of a true successor. Since OnePlus is gearing up to announce the company’s upcoming device, it also seems that they are working on its successor: The OnePlus 13R. The other phone, tipped to be the upcoming OnePlus Ace series is now a premium one.

The Upcoming OnePlus 13R

The DCS post revealed some details that this model will belong to the new OnePlus Ace series. Normally, only the Pro variant is related to China, with Ace 2 and Ace 3 being rebranded as OnePlus 11R and OnePlus 12R for the global market. It is likely that the OnePlus Ace 5, could be rebranded as the OnePlus 13R in India and some other markets.

The phone is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm SM8750 processor which could also mean that it will have Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and not Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 as seen on OnePlus 12R. However, there’s also a chance it could utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, as the R-series typically features a slightly older Snapdragon 8-series SoC.

The device is rumored to showcase a 1.5K display, although the exact screen size has not yet been disclosed. The OnePlus 13R may include a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary camera and a 50MP Samsung JN1 telephoto camera, mirroring the setup seen in the Find X8 series.

In comparison, the OnePlus 12R has a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera, alongside a 2MP macro unit and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, suggesting that the new model may feature an upgraded telephoto sensor. The anticipated battery capacity for the OnePlus 13R is expected to be at least 6,000mAh, an improvement over the 5,500mAh battery in its predecessor.

The OnePlus Ace 5 series could be launched before the end of the year, with the OnePlus 13R likely debuting soon after in select global markets alongside the OnePlus 13.
