Apple Vision Pro Successor Tipped for 2025 Launch, Affordable Model Could Arrive Sooner

Apple Vision Pro successor is set to launch sometime in the latter half of 2025 probably powered by a precise M5 chipset supported with generative AI for deeper impactions on user experience. Still, at a likely high price like the current $3,499 model, that could be limiting appeal to more than just the mass market. To rectify this, Apple apparently also plans to prepare a cheaper mixed-reality headset too slated for a 2025 arrival.

More About the Apple Vision Pro 2 in 2025

Recent reports have speculated on the price of this lower-cost model and the potential compromises Apple could make to reduce its component costs. The display of the current Apple Vision Pro is one of its costliest components due to it housing two 4K micro-OLED panels. It might well go a step further to even reduce the cost of production by incorporating an inferior display. Earlier Tips claimed that Apple has samples of a 1,500PPI screen from Japan Display however this is far lower than the Vision Pro’s 3,386PPI.

While the budget version of Apple’s headset, details about which Gurman did not provide regarding its display type, could be priced as low as $2000. Like any cheaper options, we can expect that the premium features will not be available. Consider the budget headset as having no EyeSight-based technology, may use a lower-quality screen module, and could come with a plastic rather than premium glass and aluminum like in its predecessor.

Apple is also expected to add a simpler form of the A18 Pro chip, the same as the M1 multi-core performance for the cheaper headset. With the M1 and M2 in particular seeing such minor boosts from each other, that might make the A18 Pro a cheaper option.

Contrary to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s prediction of a 2025 launch, Gurman believes that the second-generation Vision Pro will debut in 2026, potentially with a faster SoC, though exact hardware details were not disclosed.
