Intel Core Ultra 5 235 CPU Surfaces on Geekbench: Specs and Performance Insights

Geekbench discovered the Core Ultra 5 235, an Arrow Lake CPU that has an estimated base clock speed of up to 5 GHz and only 14 cores. Though Intel has been introducing a spectrum of SKUs within this Arrow Lake series, only a few are anticipated to go live later this month and the non-K and non-KF models are rescheduled for a release at some point in the days ahead.

It will hopefully bring some decent models from across the Core Ultra 5, Ultra 7, and Ultra 9 sub-series. Let’s take a closer look at the specs of one of these chips, namely the Core Ultra 5 235.

The Upcoming Intel Core Ultra 5 235 CPU

The benchmark shows that the processor has a total of 14 cores and 14 threads with six high-performance cores and eight efficiency cores. It’s clocked at 3.40 GHz base and can boost up to 5.0 GHz on the performance cores.

Also, its specs are a 24 MB L3 cache with a 3 MB L2 cache. Specifically, the CPU was tested on a Lenovo motherboard that goes simply by the name ‘336F’. No word yet on what kind of chipset, but the locked aspects suggest it could be a non-Z890 800-series chipset.

Going into other Geekbench 6.3.0 details, the Core Ultra 5 tallied up scores of 2634 points in single-core tests and a very strong 13293 points in multi-core testing. It is important that you understand these scores are based on tests, and no single test tells you how powerful the processor really is, however, Geekbench specifically helps to give a relative idea of what tier the CPUs fall into. The Core Ultra 5 235 is one of the slower chips in the bottom half of the Core Ultra 5 lineup, with only models like the Core Ultra 5 245 and Ultra 5 245K outperforming it.

The line-up includes a Core Ultra 5 225, which could be even slower. In terms of performance, the Core Ultra 5 235 surpasses the Core i5-14600 in single-core tests, although the 14600 has a 200 MHz higher boost clock and boasts 20 threads compared to the Arrow Lake chip’s 14. The benchmarks suggest that the Core Ultra 5 235 competes well with the 14600, highlighting its capabilities within the Arrow Lake lineup.
