East Bengal have confirmed the departure of club captain Harmanjot Khabra after his second spell with the club. The veteran returned to the Torch Bearers in the summer of 2023, and played an important role throughout the season.
Even though his appearances were limited due to an injury sustained midway through the campaign, his presence was as important as ever in the locker room.

The 36-year-old made 12 ISL appearances last season and played six Durand Cup games as well. His injury prevented him from being selected for the Kalinga Super Cup earlier this year, which East Bengal ended up winning.
Under Carles Cuadrat, Harmanjot Khabra was played as a right-back, and was quite effective there. He occasionally rotated with Nishu Kumar, who remains at the club for the season.
Now, it remains to be seen if the 36-year-old will sign for another club this season or if he intends to hang up his boots after a decorated career in India.
