AirPods Pro 3 to Feature Improved Active Noise Cancellation, New Rumors Suggest; Details Still Sparse

Apple will announce the AirPods 4 at its upcoming ‘It’s Glowtime’ event on September 9. In conjunction with this launch, rumors indicate that the company could also announce AirPods Pro 3 in October which should include major ANC upgrades over its predecessor, Apple’s existing-generation AirPods Pro.

Kosutami over on X told us about it, and there are continuous airings of the AirPods Pro 3 being described in leaks – this is a device we have been waiting for for around two years books with the debut of AirPods Pro 2. The previous model only brought some minor tweaks in the form of better battery life and a more advanced H1 chipset.

There is still plenty that we don’t know about the new Active Noise Cancellation though, as Kosutami did not go into specific details. With regard to the possible delivery window of AirPods Pro 3, their words were very concise and direct: “soon”, suggesting that probably they could launch alongside new products on September 9.

According to MacRumors, Apple is positioning its soon-to-be-released wireless earbuds as offering up to double the amount of Active Noise Cancellation offered by this year’s model. Therefore, the AirPods Pro 3 could mark a significant improvement in this aspect. However, the major question that looms is can Active Noise Cancellation come at a cost of increased battery life? It’s unclear if the AirPods will pack a larger battery to support this new feature, thereby adding yet more life to these earbuds.

Additionally, the rumors do not address whether the new AirPods will undergo a redesign or maintain the current design of the AirPods Pro 2. There is limited information available at this stage, so we’ll need to wait for further announcements to learn more.
