Qualcomm has been the leading smartphone processor maker for a long time now, and ist processors are widely used globally. But in terms of performance, the leader had been surpassed by Apple a long time ago. But still, it is undoubtedly the fact that most smartphones come with the company’s Snapdragon SoC.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 will be releasing in the first week of December, and till then, several leaks have been making their rounds on the internet about its performance. However, most of the leaks offered were mostly the chips benchmark results and not AnTuTu results.
The leaker Abhishek Yadav on Twitter stumbled allegedly leaked what appears to be an AnTuTu score for a Qualcomm chip called Lahania. It, according to sources, is none other than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875. The silicon managed a score of 874,868, outperforming its predecessor- the Snapdragon 865+, which only manages to score around 629,245. It also leaves Samsung’s Exynos 1080 and the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 in the dust. Both chips were only a few points behind 700,000 on AnTuTu.
While the fantastic 800,000+ AnTuTu score suggests that the Snapdragon 875 is on par with Apple’s A14 Bionic, that isn’t necessarily the case. AnTuTu is designed to compare devices based on the same operating system. And one cannot merely compare an android with iOS. However, it’ll be interesting to see how the Exynos 2100 fares on AnTuTu. The chip, the same as the Snapdragon 875, has surfaced only on Geekbench so far. Based on what we’ve seen so far, the Snapdragon 875 is slightly behind the Exynos 2100.
With Apple’s A14 Bionic and A13 Bionic dominating the smartphone processor market with their performance. Qualcomm needs to release some powerful chips to establish its mark on the industry once more.
