Facebook is giving its app and website a new facelift. It offers a brighter shade of blue, and different highlights as well. Even the white is much more prominent and there is the usual dark mode that is available on desktop and iOS.
The official Facebook Android app has been without the dark mode for a long time now, but that seems to be changing now.
Facebook has started publicly testing the dark mode for its official Facebook app on Android
A video of how the dark mode is going to look on Facebook’s Android app is available on Twitter. Here’s the video of the dark mode:
Apparently, this tweet is not a leak or rumour, as it was actually made in collaboration with Facebook. However, according to sources, the public testing is done on a smaller scale, as the feature is not yet available for a lot of users. However, it is safe to say that this testing could very well expand to a wider base, pretty soon.
Well with most apps getting a dark mode feature it was about time that the social media giant also upgrades its UI with changing times because the dark mode is loved by many and it just looks way better than tradition UI colour combinations.
The rest of the apps that are owned by Facebook also have a dark mode. Both WhatsApp and Instagram have been updated with dark mode for a long time now. The iOS version of Facebook, which has a dark mode, has also been around for some time now, and we are finally getting access to the dark mode on Facebook’s Android version.
The dark mode looks gorgeous not to mention it’s just sitting right with our OLED displays. The video in the tweet shows the best look of Facebook till date, and it is enough to say that the company has done justice in using the dark mode.
