As per the Bloomberg report (by Mark Gurman), Apple intends to launch a possible paid layer for more sophisticated AI services of Apple Intelligence, which would be prohibitive for some customers. With products and services like AI subscriptions, the company hopes to improve user experience and increase income.

Apple Intelligence may have paid subscription for premium features: Complete details

It is anticipated that Apple Intelligence will begin as a free service and eventually transition to a premium membership. A premium tier could be called Apple Intelligence+ (a hypothetical name) or something like that. Additional services will be available to customers upon payment of a monthly fee.

Gurman asserts that Apple will be able to “diversify its revenue sources” if it decides to charge more for Apple Intelligence. The author also emphasizes how important it is for Apple to reduce its reliance on traditional hardware sales and create a steady revenue stream through its present ecosystem, given that AI is becoming a primary focus for many businesses and smartphone makers.

After these OSs officially launch this fall, Apple Intelligence will still be in beta and free to use—that is, of course, if you have a compatible device, such as an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or, most likely, one of the iPhone 16 family—while Mac and iPad require devices with Apple’s M-series chips.

This will ensure that Apple counters the recent tendency of users to upgrade their gadgets much later than they used to. Like all the other Apple “+” services, this will be a subscription plan. Apple Intelligence is a crucial component of the company’s strategy, which calls for it to make less money from the sale of devices and more from services.

If you currently detest the numerous memberships you pay for each month, get ready for things to become worse. This research offers an intriguing insight into how Apple perceives its future revenue streams. But one thing is certain: Apple is investigating methods to use AI to improve user experience and increase profits. The company views AI as a significant tool.
