Punjab FC, Kerala Blasters FC, and NorthEast United FC have yet to secure any trophies or significant success in the Indian Super League. Despite their participation in the league over the years, these clubs have faced challenges in clinching titles or achieving notable accomplishments on the field.

However, it’s worth noting that Punjab FC made a significant stride in the ISL 2023-24 season by earning promotion from the I-League. This marked a notable achievement for the club, as they transitioned to compete at a higher level within the Indian football landscape. While their inaugural season in the ISL may not have resulted in immediate success or trophies, their promotion reflects their ambition to compete against top-tier teams and further elevate their presence in Indian football.

In the top 10 list of the most successful ISL clubs, occupying positions 10 through 7 are East Bengal FC, Odisha FC, Jamshedpur FC, and Hyderabad FC.

East Bengal FC holds one Kalinga Super Cup, which they secured in 2024, while Odisha FC claimed their Kalinga Super Cup victory in 2023.

Jamshedpur FC earned the ISL Shield in the 2021-22 season, showcasing their prowess in the league.

Hyderabad FC stands out with an impressive ISL Championship win in the 2021-22 season, highlighting their success on the grand stage of Indian football.

6. FC Goa

In the sixth position on the list is FC Goa, boasting two significant trophies. They clinched the ISL Shield in 2019, showcasing their dominance in the league that season. Additionally, they secured the Kalinga Super Cup in the same year, further solidifying their success on both domestic and regional fronts.

5. Bengaluru FC

Occupying the fourth position is Bengaluru FC, a formidable force in Indian football, boasting two noteworthy trophies. They clinched the ISL Championship in the 2018-19 season, showcasing their dominance in the league. Additionally, they secured the Kalinga Super Cup in 2018, highlighting their success on both the national and regional stages.

4. Chennaiyin FC

Ranked fifth on the list is Chennaiyin FC, a powerhouse in Indian football with two prestigious trophies to their name. They emerged victorious in the ISL Championship in both the 2014-15 and 2017-18 seasons, demonstrating their ability to excel on the grand stage and secure success in the highly competitive league.

3. Mohun Bagan Super Giants

Ranked third on the list is Mohun Bagan Super Giants, a team of considerable prowess in Indian football, with two impressive trophies to their name. They secured the ISL Championship in the 2022-23 season, demonstrating their ability to triumph in the highly competitive league. The following year, they continued their success by clinching the ISL Shield in 2023-24, further solidifying their status as one of the top teams in the league.

2. Atletico de Kolkata

Ranked second on the list is Atletico de Kolkata, a dominant force in the Indian Super League, boasting an impressive total of three trophies. They emerged victorious in the inaugural season of the ISL in 2014, showcasing their strength right from the start. Building on their success, they clinched the championship once again in 2016, solidifying their position as a top contender in the league. Their most recent triumph came in the 2019-20 season, demonstrating their consistency and ability to excel on the grand stage of Indian football.

On 16 January 2020, significant changes occurred as the RPSG Group, alongside former cricketer Sourav Ganguly and businessmen Utsav Parekh, acquired an 80% stake in Mohun Bagan Football Club (India) Pvt. Ltd., the legal entity owning the I-League club, Mohun Bagan AC. This acquisition led to the dissolution of ATK, effective from 1 July 2020, and its merger with the footballing division of Mohun Bagan AC, allowing Mohun Bagan to participate in the ISL as ATK Mohun Bagan FC from the subsequent season onwards.

Continuing their success, they secured another ISL Shield in the 2022-23 season, further solidifying their position as a top contender in the league. Their most recent triumph came in the 2023-24 season, where they once again lifted the ISL Championship, demonstrating their consistency and ability to excel at the highest level of Indian football.
