According to Variety, Eugene Levy will also play a recurring role in season 4. The specifics of his role are still unknown. Kumail Nanjiani is also joining the cast, though details of this “integral” recurring character are still being kept under wraps, according to The Wrap.
Only Murders in the Building: Expectation
The next whodunit is set up in the season 3 finale: When they run out of alcohol at Oliver’s musical’s opening night celebration, Charles’ body double Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) swings by Charles’ apartment to get another bottle of wine. But when she gets there, it seems like someone shot her through the window. In Charles’ kitchen, Sazz collapses to the ground, bleeding to death. Season 4 will undoubtedly require the team to figure out not just who killed Sazz but also whether Charles was the intended victim and if so, why.
The personal lives of the characters might also undergo some development. Tobert and Loretta, Mabel and Oliver’s love interests, relocate to Los Angeles for work, and there’s a chance they’ll be dating for a long time. On Only Murders, relationships don’t last long, so we won’t rule out the possibility that these two—along with Joy, Charles’s former fiancée—will reunite in season 4.
