Lenovo France previously launched the 16:10 display laptop powered by AMD’s APUs up to the new Ryzen 7 4800U, costing up to € 1,299. At the price, the slim and light laptop offers incredible value and made it good performer overall for daily usage.
However, now, instead of selling the Lenovo IdeaPad S540-13ARE, Lenovo France is selling the Lenovo IdeaPad S540-13API, which is powered by AMD Ryzen 4000H Renoir APUs that consume a lot more power to deliver better performance.
You get up to the 8 core, 16 threaded Ryzen 7 4800H processor that has better base clock speeds compared to the similar Ryzen 7 4800U (2.9GHz vs 1.8GHz). Although, the laptop retains the same 13.3-inch QHD IPS display with 2560×1600 resolution 300 nits peak brightness, covering 100% sRGB Gamut.
Even though the new Lenovo IdeaPad S540 comes with a beefier AMD APU, Lenovo claims the laptop will still last for nearly 15 hours. It comes paired with up to 16GB soldered DDR4-3200 RAM and 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD storage.
On the front, it houses a 720p IR webcam along with a backlit keyboard. For connectivity, the IdeaPad S540 features Wi-Fi 6, along with Bluetooth 5.0. The laptop’s 56Wh battery also supports 65W USB Type-C charging and has a TPM 2.0 chip for security along with Windows 10 Home pre-installed.
Even though there’s a small bump in the processor, the laptop still retains its € 1,299 and is available on Lenovo FR store.
