The Dubai Globe Soccer Awards 2024 generated headlines as Cristiano Ronaldo dubbed the Saudi Pro League better than the French Ligue 1. Although the French league hit back at the Portuguese star on social media, Ronaldo’s comments generated a lot of heat online. He ended up winning three awards as Manchester City swept a significant number of awards.Â

Dubai Globe Soccer Awards 2024 winners revealed
Best Player Award: Erling HaalandÂ
After being snubbed at FIFA’s The Best Awards and the Ballon d’or, Erling Haaland finally won a best player award at the Dubai d’Or ceremony. The Manchester City striker helped the team win the treble, while also breaking the Premier League scoring record in his first season in England.Â
Best Middle East Player Award, Maradona Award for the best goalscorer in 2023, and the Fans’ Favourite Player of the Year: Cristiano Ronaldo
After finishing as the top scorer of 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo picked up three awards in Dubai. The Portugal captain also commented that he could play for ten more years before thinking about retirement. He is currently the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League, although his team remains second in the table behind Al Hilal.
Best Coach: Pep GuardiolaÂ
After finally winning the Champions League alongside the Premier League and the FA Cup, Guardiola was fully deserving of the best coach award. The Catalonian is on the hunt for a fourth straight league title once again, and is close to achieving the historic feat this time.
Emerging Player Award: Jude BellinghamÂ
After hitting the ground running at Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham won the best Emerging Player Award at the Globe Soccer Awards. The 20-year-old is currently the top scorer in LaLiga with 13 goals, in spite of being a midfielder.
Best Women’s Player: Aitana BonmatiÂ
The Ballon d’or winner and FIFA’s Best Women’s Player also picked up the Dubai d’Or for the Best Women’s Player, after her impressive display for the Spanish national team and Barcelona Femeni.
