In this article, we will be discussing how the PS5 has outdone the PS4. So, without beating around more bushes, let’s dive in.

PS5 Surpassed PS4

You have probably heard about the ransomware attack on Insomniac Games. After this attack, a lot of confidential data from the company was stolen, and now it is appearing on online sites as leaks.

We have had various leaks before, and now we are getting this new leak that PS5 has surpassed PS4.

And this is not just a leak; there are ample numbers and figures to prove the leak. According to these leaks, PS5 has surpassed PS4 in various aspects. Well, although it was expected and obvious because the PlayStation 5 is good at many things, the PS4 fell short.

However, now we have presentation slides on the comparison between these two gaming consoles.

The data is based on how the gaming console owners are spending their time on them. The slides from which the leak has emerged were spotted by PlayStation Lifestyle.

These slides display the data for 27 months, which is more than 2 years. So, we can say that the time period in review and comparison is quite reliable and sufficient to draw some points from it.

According to the data revealed by the slides, PS5 has a higher attachment rate of 94% than PS4, with 92%. This shows the popularity of the PlayStation 5 gaming console among players. And it is clear that players are using the PS5 more for their gaming.

Also, talking about the playtime of both gaming consoles, there is a striking difference between the two. The average playtime of PS5 is 6% greater than PS4, and that is too minimal. This also includes the platform retention percentage and the gameplay per hour user percentage.

These percentages have also surpassed those of PS4.

However, there is more data indicating the preferences of gaming console owners. Players are also spending considerable time on PlayStation Plus. The data indicates that more players are spending their time on the PS5 than on the PS4. In this regard too, PS5 surpassed PS4.

Talking about preferences for games, players are shifting their focus more to the free-to-play games on PS5.

According to data, almost 4% of players spend their time on free-to-play games on PS4. While this number is quite high—almost 25% for PS5 players—.

Thus, we can say that with gaming consoles, the preferences of players are changing too. Now they are demanding and consuming more live-service games with free-to-play games.
