Apple iPhone 16 To Tackle Heat Management With Graphene Thermal System

A tipster has revealed that Apple is considering implementing an upgraded thermal management system in the iPhone 16 series, addressing concerns about overheating present in its predecessor, the iPhone 15 lineup. The speculated successors to the iPhone 15, which encountered heating issues, might feature a material with enhanced thermal conductivity compared to Apple’s current solution.

Notably, Android smartphone manufacturers have recently adopted innovative mechanisms, such as vapor cooling chambers, to regulate device temperatures. Additionally, there are indications that Apple intends to enhance the cooling of the iPhone 16 by incorporating a metal bracket to house the device’s battery, a departure from the current models.

The Rumors About iPhone 16 Graphene Thermal System

As per a post by tipster Kosutami (@KosutamiSan) on X (previously known as Twitter), Apple is actively developing a thermal management system based on graphene technology for the iPhone 16 series. Presently, Apple’s smartphones, including the iPhone 15 series, employ a copper heat sink to manage temperatures during usage.

In addition to the anticipated adoption of graphene, the iPhone 16 is rumored to feature a metal bracket housing the device’s battery, a move expected to enhance heat dissipation for both the device and its battery.

If Apple proceeds with altering the material for thermal management in the iPhone 16 series, it could potentially address hardware-level challenges associated with heat dissipation. Earlier this year, the company acknowledged heating issues with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, attributing them to software bugs and app optimization concerns. Apple claimed to have resolved these issues with the iOS 17.0.3 update released last month.

However, it is advised to approach these leaked claims with some skepticism. Given that the iPhone 15 was recently launched, more concrete details about the iPhone 16 are likely to emerge in the coming months, with an expected release in the latter half of 2024.
