The forthcoming release of the Realme GT 5 Pro is generating anticipation, as it’s poised to expand the Realme GT 5 series, initially introduced in China in August this year. Speculations and leaks about the GT 5 Pro have been circulating for several weeks, hinting at features like a periscope camera and the incorporation of Qualcomm’s latest octa-core chipset. The company has recently provided an official teaser, although the exact launch date remains unconfirmed.
The Upcoming Realme GT 5 Pro
On Weibo, Realme shared a teaser image, prominently featuring the “Pro” label, signaling the imminent launch of the Realme GT 5 Pro. While design details haven’t been revealed yet, the image emphasizes the “Pro” branding, and the caption roughly translates to, “It takes two years to build a ship, and we are ready! Please shout out its name!”
Another Weibo post from Realme confirmed that the GT 5 Pro model will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Previous reports suggest that the phone might offer up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 built-in storage. It is expected to run on Realme’s UI 5.0 based on Android 14.
According to prior leaks, the Realme GT 5 Pro may feature a curved BOE AMOLED display with a 2K resolution, potentially measuring 6.82 inches and supporting a 144Hz refresh rate.
Additional leaks hint at the inclusion of an unspecified Sony IMX9 1/1.4x primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom.
Powering the Realme GT 5 Pro is expected to be a 5,400mAh battery, supporting both 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. For added security, the handset is likely to incorporate an in-display fingerprint sensor. Notably, the Realme GT 5 is rumored to be available in two versions with differing battery capacities and charging capabilities: one with a 5,240mAh battery and 150W fast charging, and the other with a 4,600mAh battery and 240W fast charging.
