A 24-inch iMac revamp is long overdue, especially given Apple’s plans to release the M3 in late 2023 or early 2024. According to the most recent rumor, the business will upgrade its ‘All in One’ Mac family, providing users the choice of configuring it with the M2 or M2 Pro chipsets.

Though earlier rumors have repeatedly suggested that Apple will deliver an M3 upgrade to its iMac series, Mac Otakara believes that the next update will include the M2 and M2 Pro options. According to the source, some custom iMac configurations are facing up to a one-month delay in the United States on Apple’s online shop, however MacRumors clarifies the situation, adding that this has been the case for some time and that a refresh is not guaranteed to appear in the coming weeks.

Using the same chassis saves the corporation millions of dollars in design, research, and other costs, not to mention the mounting costs when the final design is ready for mass production. Fortunately, the Japanese source claims that the next 24-inch iMac will also include Thunderbolt 4 connections and Bluetooth 5.3 support.

The new models may also include Wi-Fi 6E, so in addition to having more chipset alternatives, wireless connectivity possibilities are expected to improve significantly. We expect that with the new M2 and M2 Pro chipsets, users will be able to configure their iMacs with more unified RAM. The M1 versions were limited to 16GB of RAM, however with the M2, Apple increased the maximum supported RAM count to 24GB.
