Based on the design, it appears like AMD will once again go for a triple-fan cooling arrangement driven by dual 8-pin connectors. This will be a dual-slot design, and by the looks of it, it will be the Radeon RX 7800 XT. The same card will also be available in a variety of bespoke versions, one of which has already been leaked.

Gamescom 2023 has already begun, and AMD has scheduled its own “Highlight Show” on August 25th at 8 a.m. (Pacific Time).

The event will be hosted by AMD’s gaming team, which includes Frank Azor and Scott Herkelman, among other prominent figures. Aside from the two graphics cards, AMD is also expected to provide an official update on HYPR-RX and the highly anticipated FSR 3 tech, which was designed to compete with DLSS 3.

The AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT GPU is based on the Navi 32 SKU with four MCDs. The GPU core has 3840 cores packed into 60 Compute Units. It has 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM that operates on a 256-bit wide bus interface, 64 MB of Infinity Cache, and an 18 Gbps pin speed for a total bandwidth of 576 GB/s. That is the RX 7800 XT GPU, however we do not yet know the specific configuration of the RX 7700 XT GPU.

It will have a 192-bit bus interface, implying that we are looking at another Navi 32 model with only three of the four MCDs activated, as well as 48 MB of Infinity Cache. In terms of core configuration, we can anticipate 24 Compute Units with 3072 stream processors.

The AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card is expected to cost between $550 and $600 US, while the Radeon RX 7700 XT is expected to cost between $350-$450 US. Both of these cards will compete with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 series. AMD classifies all GPUs priced above $500 USD as “Enthusiast-Class,” whereas devices priced at $1000 USD or higher are classified as “Ultra-Enthusiast Class.”
