Bayern Munich have signed Maccabi Tel Aviv goalkeeper Daniel Peretz on a permanent deal to reinforce their squad. The injury to Manuel Neuer has forced Thomas Tuchel to play Sven Ulreich in goal, who kept a clean sheet in their opening game of the season against Werder Bremen, which ended in a 4-0 win.

The Bavarians will pay €5 million for the player plus add-ons for the goalkeeper. He has agreed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga champions and will complete the medical for the transfer in the coming days.

The goalkeeper had a brilliant performance in the 2023 U21 Euros, helping Israel to the semifinals of the competition before eventually losing out. Now, he will be signing for one of the biggest clubs in the world and could have a chance to break into the first team.

Bayern legend Lothar Matthäus has confirmed that the club will sign Daniel Peretz. But he also commented that Bayene could have promoted one of the goalkeepers in their youth academy.

Peretz joined the Maccabi Tel Aviv academy as a youngster and made his way to the Israel youth team for the Euros based on his performances for the team. Now, he will have a chance to impress in the biggest German club as the first Israeli player to feature for FC Hollywood.
