Apple Vision Pro will be coming out with Three Different Battery Models

When not plugged into a socket, the Apple Vision Pro draws power from an external battery puck, the capacity of which has yet to be confirmed. However, a firmware update for the AR headset reveals that it will be powered by three distinct battery models, rather than just one.

According to AppleInsider, the firmware for the head-mounted wearable was leaked on Thursday night, and while the device is supposed to have a non-removable battery, the leak suggests that there may be three different capacities. Aaron, a Twitter user, posted the firmware version, stating that one battery model of the Apple Vision Pro is labelled as A2781. There are, however, two more variants with the model numbers A2988 and A2697.

This could imply that the Apple Vision Pro will be supplied with a battery puck that comes in three capacities, while the company has not explicitly said this, nor has it specified that the puck can be removed and replaced with another to gain additional runtime.

An earlier leak had revealed a connection that can be connected to the Apple Vision Pro.

Unfortunately, the cable lacks a USB-C connection, implying that it is most likely a proprietary cable produced by the corporation. Assuming there are three battery types for the Apple Vision Pro, one of them has a meagre 6,500mAh capacity, and while the firm has not commented on this statistic, it does indicate that the AR headset will last for only two hours on battery power. The item is expected to be officially released by Apple in early 2024, with the corporation apparently changing a few of its physical locations in the United States to allow potential purchasers to test out these headsets.
