Intel Raptor Lake Refresh Non-K desktop CPU Specs leaked online

The details of Intel’s 14th Generation Raptor Lake Refresh Non-K Desktop CPU range have been revealed, and they will be priced similarly to 13th generation chips. In September, Intel will introduce its 14th Generation Raptor Lake Refresh Desktop CPU range, followed by an October launch.

The new series is likely to be a development of the current 13th Gen line, with the key differences being faster clock speeds and improved memory support. A few SKUs will also see a core count increase, but overall, we may expect similar performance to what has previously been revealed.

According to the leak, the 14th Gen CPUs will be priced the same as the 13th Gen SKUs. Aside from that, we now know the specifications of the Non-K range, while Core i3 SKUs are currently unavailable. The flagship is the Intel Core i9-14900K CPU, which has 16 cores and 32 threads in an 8+16 configuration. The processor will have up to 36 MB of Smart Cache and a TDP of 125W (253W PL2).

It will have basic clock rates of 3.2 GHz and can boost to 6.0 GHz with Thermal Velocity Boost. These frequencies are currently for the pre-QS stage, thus we may see the rumoured 6.2 GHz on this chip or a “KS” variation later on. In any case, this is a +200 MHz increase over the Core i9-13900K and the same as the Core i9-13900KS.

Intel’s 8+12 core arrangement with 20 cores and 28 threads will be used for the Raptor Lake Core i7-14700K.

This will be a fantastic upgrade over the current Core i7-13700K, which has an 8+8 core arrangement and will provide a nice increase to multi-threading performance thanks to the extra E-Cores. The CPU will include 33 MB of smart cache (up from 30 MB) with clock frequencies ranging from 3.4 GHz to 5.6 GHz with TBMT3. This is also a +200 MHz increase over the 13700K, and we may expect performance improvements of 5-10% from this SKU.

Finally, we have the Intel Raptor Lake Core i5-14600K, which, contrary to rumours, does not use an 8+8 arrangement but rather a 6+8, which is the same as the Core i5-13600K. The cache and TDP will remain unchanged, while the clock rates will increase by 200 MHz to 5.3 GHz, providing up to a 5% performance advantage over its predecessor.

The leaker chi11eddog has published specifications for at least five SKUs in the Raptor Lake Non-K range, including the Core i9-14900, Core i7-14700, Core i5-14600, Core i5-14500, and Core i5-14400. Except for the Core i5-14400, all chips are 65W designs with the same specifications as the “K” SKUs.

Although the basic speeds are listed, the Core i5-14400 has a 6+4 configuration, which implies it has 10 cores and 16 threads. The 14th generation, like the previous generation, will not include any “F” variations of the Core i5-14600 or Core i5-14500.

The Intel Raptor Lake-S Refresh Desktop CPU lineup will ship in October 2023 and will be supported on existing LGA 1700 socketed motherboards in the 600 and 700-series lineups.
